First Christmas Part2

After brunch at home with the Foster's on Christmas Day, we went over to the Kloboucek's for a late lunch. So much food! There was pork, fish, and salads galore! Also lots of chocolate, dessert and nibbles. Jayden tried his first mango and loved it. Again lots of pressies and lots of pressies for Jayden. We stayed over so we could have a few drinks and didn't have to rush home to put Jayden to bed.

Boxing Day was just spent lounging around with the Kloboucek's and eating the many leftovers from the previous day.The Kloboucek family Christmas....

Relaxing on boxing day.

The best Chistmas present of all!

Our little man (or not so little). He was 6.5 months at Christmas.

First Solid Food

Sorry for the delay since our last post. We started Jayden on solids after we got back from holidays in November. I have to say that he loves all the food we have tried so far - rice cereal, pumpkin, potato, green beans, carrot and zucchini. We have also given him banana, avocado & pear. I can't say that he is all that keen on avocado or banana but we will try again later with those. He is now on 3 small solids meals a day - breakfast lunch and dinner (plus formula). We have also given him rusks to chew on as his 2 bottom teeth are coming through.

He loves the highchair but is definitely impatient for food once he is put in the chair. Don't mess around with his food (takes after his father)!

He is definitely more interested in the solid food than formula. He is getting better at getting more into his mouth but I'm sure that will all change when he demands the spoon to feed himself. I will enjoy this relatively clean time!

Attempt 1 with rice cereal - I think some of it went in the mouth....

Bring on the food...

Mmm pumpkin....

Loves the highchair at Nanna & Poppy's place

Loves chewing on the rusks

First Christmas Part1

The Klobouceks had many Christmas celebrations starting on Christmas Eve when we had the Foster family over for drinks (and chinese takeaway - very xmas!). Mainly to open some presents (predominantly for Jayden) as we would be pushed for time fitting it all in on Christmas Day.

Christmas Day arrived nice and early for us as per usual Jayden was up for his early morning feed at 5am but went back down around 6.30am and gave us a little bit more time in bed! The Foster family arrived for brunch around 9.30am and we had a lovely meal of mini quiches, ham & cheese croissants, eggs benedict with smoked salmon or ham (or both!) and fruit salad with greek yoghurt. Lots to eat and lots of quality time spent with the little guy.

It has definitely changed Christmas Day for us. It was great to watch Jayden open all his pressies and have just as much fun playing with the ribbons and cardboxes that the toys came in.

We then went to lunch at the Klobouceks for the afternoon on Christmas Day (see next post).

Isn't this what you are supposed to do with the bon bons?

Or maybe this is.... No, that's just my father (boys did I get some weirdo genes!)

Out of all the pressies from Nanna & Pop, I think this one is the best. After all, I can fit in it!

First Holiday

Last week the Klobouceks went on our first family holiday with Jayden to Caloundra. It wasn't the best weather but provided a good excuse not to do too much and really relax. Jayden had his first trip to the beach but it was a bit cool and windy so I can't say that he enjoyed it too much. He also had his first swim in the pool with Daddy.

Happy with Mummy before our trip to the beach......

Really unsure about the beach. Was this supposed to be fun Mum?

Fun in the pool with Daddy.....

Is it supposed to be this cold?

Playing with Aunty Caroline

Last weekend Aunty Caroline visited and bought Jayden a musical toy which he loved. Anything that makes a noise and moves provides lots of entertainment.

Fun in the bath

Well we love the bath but it's just getting too small for Jayden now so we will have to move into the big bath. Nath thinks it's hilarious to subject our little man with different things on his head but I must say it is cute!

Afternoon with Great Grandma

Yesterday we visited Jayden's Great Grandma (his only remaining great grandparent). Jayden was on his best behaviour and is fascinated with new people especially hands.

Mothers Group

Jayden and I have been going to a Mothers Group (organised through Child Health). After the 4 weeks were up we have caught up a number of times for coffee, walks and get togethers in the park. It has been good for Jayden to get to know some babies around the same age.

Jayden is absent from this photo as it was the taken the week that we didn't have a car due to someone running up the back of the new Mazda! Jayden is being looked after by Nanna and Poppy.

Playing with Sam

Yesterday we visited Aunty Kymmy and Sam. Jayden enjoyed playing with his new friend.

You think the Mummys could afford more than one bassinet though. It's a bit cramped in here!

Nath's Birthday

Well it has been another busy weekend in the Kloboucek household. On Sat night I had a surprise birthday dinner for Nath. Peter, Peta, Millsy, Darren, Rosie and Erica came to our place and as usual we had a great time and lots of laughs. Thanks everyone for coming. Australia didn't win the rugby but Jayden was the No. 1 Wallabies supporter!

On Sunday (14th Sept) was Nath's birthday and we went down the coast to the Shereton Mirage seafood buffet. We hadn't been there in over a year as Nath wasn't allowed to go there while I was pregnant as there was so many things I couldn't eat! My parents, Darren and Caroline and Jared came and we enjoyed the feast. Jayden enjoyed himself up the point it was time for a sleep and didn't like the fact that we were in this noisy environment and wasn't conduicive to sleeping. He much prefers his quiet and dark room.

1st Fathers Day

Yesterday Nath enjoyed his first Fathers Day at home. He received a coffee mug for work with a picture of Jayden on it and the box set of the series on war - 6 DVDs in all. (Really looking forward to watching them! - give me a romantic comedy any day). Anyway we had a lovely day with lunch at home with my parents and brother as Nath's parents are overseas at the moment.

Day at the Tweed

The Klobouceks (including Grandma and Grandpa) spent yesterday at the Tweed, enjoying seafood and a lovely day near the water. Jayden was a good boy and only got a bit stroppy when he wanted food - something in common with his Dad I must say! Dad is the most wonderful person in the whole world, I wish I had a zillion trillion of them, he makes me so happy.

^Hey Lis! Next time post the blog, don't just leave it sitting here for people like me to come and edit! HA!

Hi everyone!
Lisa and I bought a new camera to take shots of the baby with.
Be patient as we are learning, the camera is a Canon EOS450D Digital SLR 12.1 Megapixel.
I've found two lovely shots here that I would like to show you.
The first one is of Jayden having a bunch of fun with mum.
The second is just beautiful, its mum with little son, having a feed. When I see Lisa feeding Jayden I just feel its such a special moment, the little man needs everything from mummy, here he is taking life and nutrient, straight from mumma.
Love you Lis <3!>

More photos of Jayden

More photos of the little man......

Welcome to the world Jayden

Nathan and I are please to announce the arrival of Jayden Kevin George Kloboucek on 11 June 2008 at 11:04am weighing 3.47kg. The little man couldn't wait to get into this world and parents and grandparents are very excited about his arrival.

This week the little man had a little operation which was a bit traumatic for Mum and Dad but he is doing well and on the road to recovery.
