Poppy's Birthday

On Sunday 15th March we went to Zig Zag restaurant for Dad's birthday. We had a lovely lunch.

Mother's Group

Every Thursday the kids and Mum's get together for playgroup. For the most part the kids play well together with the occasional hair pull or stealing of toys.

Even though Jayden is not walking yet (or crawling for that matter) by himself he loves standing and assisted walking round the house.

Jayden 8.5 months

Time is flying by and I can't say that I have taken many photos recently. Jayden has been great except recently he got sick for the first time and it threw his routine out a bit. I even had to go back to settling him and not just put himself to sleep. Thank goodness that is gone and he is back to settling himself at every sleep!

We had our first of our regular Sunday breakfasts last Sunday and it was very nice to see everyone. We look forward to catching up with whoever can make it next month.

Jayden's Christening

On Sun 1 Feb, Jayden was christened at St Mary's Anglican Church where Nath and I got married. It was a lovely day. Jayden was a gem and had a sleep in the car just before the service. Afterwards we went to White Rabbit Bistro at Yeronga for lunch. The food was delicious and things kicked on until about 3pm. Thank you to everyone who was able to share Jayden's special day with us.

Australia Day Party

We had lots of fun at our Australia Day party yesterday. Lots of good food, lots to drink and lots of friends to catch up with.

It was an interesting start to the day as the tarp that Nath, Peter Laslo and Darren set up the previous afternoon had not only fallen down in the morning, it had broken an awning and bent a tentpole at 90 degrees. Hmm... engineers??

It also didn't help that it rained on and off during the day so we were running for cover a bit but I think everyone had a good time and for those who left before dessert (I know who you are!) I am saving some pavlova for you. Not to mention the fruit flan that Ann brought and the chocolate dipping sauce from Kath.

Day at the Tweed

We had another wonderful day down at the Tweed last weekend with the Laslo's and their 2 dogs - Abbey and Rocco.

Day at Maleny

Beware, crazed turkeys inhabit the land around the lake.

Nathan, ever fearless, chased the mad beast from the picnic site before it could pick up baby Jayden and carry him off for winter dinner.

For the last day before Nath went back to work we made a trip up to Maleny, Montville & Mapleton. We had a lovely picnic and it wasn't too hot which was good. We had lunch at Lake Baroon and minus the ants and a few flies was very enjoyable. Jayden was good and was fascinated with the grass.

The poor little guy didn't get much in the way of sleep just a couple of 30mins naps in the car so he was a bit sick of the car in the end but it was a lovely day.

First Christmas Part2

After brunch at home with the Foster's on Christmas Day, we went over to the Kloboucek's for a late lunch. So much food! There was pork, fish, and salads galore! Also lots of chocolate, dessert and nibbles. Jayden tried his first mango and loved it. Again lots of pressies and lots of pressies for Jayden. We stayed over so we could have a few drinks and didn't have to rush home to put Jayden to bed.

Boxing Day was just spent lounging around with the Kloboucek's and eating the many leftovers from the previous day.The Kloboucek family Christmas....

Our little man (or not so little). He was 6.5 months at Christmas.

First Solid Food

Sorry for the delay since our last post. We started Jayden on solids after we got back from holidays in November. I have to say that he loves all the food we have tried so far - rice cereal, pumpkin, potato, green beans, carrot and zucchini. We have also given him banana, avocado & pear. I can't say that he is all that keen on avocado or banana but we will try again later with those. He is now on 3 small solids meals a day - breakfast lunch and dinner (plus formula). We have also given him rusks to chew on as his 2 bottom teeth are coming through.

He loves the highchair but is definitely impatient for food once he is put in the chair. Don't mess around with his food (takes after his father)!

He is definitely more interested in the solid food than formula. He is getting better at getting more into his mouth but I'm sure that will all change when he demands the spoon to feed himself. I will enjoy this relatively clean time!

Attempt 1 with rice cereal - I think some of it went in the mouth....
